The business was started by Geoff Honan in 1964. For the first 30 years Honans was one of the largest Life Insurance & Superannuation Consultants in Australia and the largest Norich Union life agent. Damien Honan started in the business in 1983 and purchased the business from Geoff Honan in early 1993. The business diversified into Corporate Insurance Broking services in the late 1990's and into International Insurance Broking services in early 2000.
In 2001 we commenced operations in Sydney, followed by Gold Coast in 2006, Brisbane in 2008 and in 2009, we commence operations in New Zealand.
Our Service Ethic
From the time of inception of the business in 1964, the one thing that has not changed is our service ethic. Our service ethic is primarily providing quality service by being available to our clients, by doing what we say we will do, by challenging ourselves to achieve the best solution for our clients, by correctly resourcing our staffing levels and in answering client queries efficiently and expediently. In simple terms, our service ethic involves having pride in the service we provide to our clients.
Our service ethic also involves designing innovative insurance programs using lateral thinking, aggressive marketing techniques, planning long term relationships and implementing the broadest coverages available. We carefully select Insurance Companies who are the best suited to match our clients needs yet who are commercial when it comes to the claim process.
