Email Setup: Outlook Express

In the example below, the clients name is 'John Smith', the name of their domain/website is 'www.mbginteractive.com.au' and their email address is 'johnsmith@mbginteractive.com.au'. Replace the 'John Smith' below with your own name, 'mbginteractive.com.au' with the name of your own website, and 'johnsmith@mbginteractive.com.au' with your own email address.

Step 1: Click Tools.
Step 2: Click Accounts.


Step 3: Click Add
Step 4: Click Mail


Step 5:  Type in the name you wish displayed when people recieve your emails. Click Next.



Step 6:  Type the E-mail address you are sending email from, johnsmith@mbginteractive.com.au, click Next.


Step 7: Fill in the blank spaces

My incoming mail server is a: POP3
Incoming mail server: pop.
mbginteractive.com.au
Outgoing mai server: smtp.
mbginteractive.com.au

Step 8: Click Next


Step 9:  Fill in the blank spaces

Account Name: Your full email address is required, 'johnsmith@mbginteractive.com.au'
Password: The password you created when you created your email account.

Step 10:  Click Next.


Step 11:  Click Finish.



Step 12:  Click once on the email account you just created (pop.mbginteractive.com.au), then click Properties.



Step 13:  Click on the 'Servers' Tab.
Step 14:  At of the bottom of the window, ticket the box that states 'My server requires authentication'.
Step 15:  Click on the 'Advanced' Tab.


Step 16:  Change the Outgoing server (SMTP): from 25 (the default number) to 587.
Step 17:  Click OK.


Step 18:  Click Close. 


Congratulations you have now correctly setup your email account in Outlook Express.
