Moving web hosting and/or e-mail hosting to MBG Interactive without experiencing downtime on your website or e-mail is easy. To accomplish this, simply follow these steps carefully.
- Purchase web hosting from MBG Interactive for your domain.
- Upload your current website from your local computer to your new web hosting with MBG Interactive.
- Create your new e-mail accounts. More information on creating e-mail accounts with MBG Interactive is located here.
- Change the Domain name servers via The Console (ensure the domain name is registered with MBG Interactive, if not they will need to contact their current registrar and request the change to name servers).
NOTE: This typically takes between 4 to 8 hours for .au domains, however it can take up to a maximum of 48 hours
- Once your website and/or e-mail is working on MBG Interactive web server and the name servers have propagated around the Internet (it is recommended to wait 48 hours to be sure), you can cancel your web hosting with your previous providers.
NOTE: Do not cancel your services with your old providers until everything is set up with MBG Interactive and the name servers have propagated, otherwise you may experience a period of downtime.
